Note that JTOpen contains all the function and fixes of the most recent Toolbox LPP release, plus additional enhancements.

The JTOpen Support Statement:
JTOpen is the open source version of the IBM Toolbox for Java License Program Product (LPP). Aside for simply being 'open source' it is our fast path mechanism to gets fixes and enhancements to customers without waiting for possible PTFs or release boundaries. Thus, the JTOpen offering is always at the most current level of fixes and functions and generally leads by six months the fixes available via the Toolbox for Java LPP.

Support for the current unmodified version of the IBM supplied JTOpen is identical to the IBM Toolbox for Java LPP. If a software defect is found, the fix will be provided in the next available public build. The level of support - voice, email or fax is dependant on the type of service contract. Although the terms and conditions require the statement of 'as is' support for JTOpen, the JTOpen code is maintained by the same development team and with the same level of quality as the Toolbox LPP.

Code fixes for JTOpen will continue to be supplied via the web site. The JTOpen support is also possible via the its own forum via the web site. The JTOpen code is available in both compiled and source code versions for customer downloads.

This agreement is applicable worldwide and has been agreed to by the iSeries Service Support team.

JTerm - Java Terminal Emulator

JTerm, Image Enabled Terminal Emulator

JTerm is a Java applet for interfacing an image archive to your database or other programs originally written for text-terminals. Use JTerm (Java Terminal emulator) to run your programs just as they are. Keep using your familiar screens to find information. When you locate a specific record, just click a button to view the associated document in ViewTIFF. The document image is displayed instantly, giving the user the impression that document images are "stored in the database."

For example, you may have a database that manages delivery receipts. A click of a button on a web page automatically loads a JTerm terminal emulator for you. You don't do any installing nor configuring since all options are preset at the server. You just log-in. You then use your existing searching features to locate a delivery receipt. Click a button, and the signed copy of the original paper pops on to your screen!

White space errors in ABAP editor: "I am a BW developer with an ABAP editor question. When I write lengthy SELECT SINGLE ... statements, I am constantly bugged with white space errors from the ABAP Editor. Is there a method I can use that would:

(a) Line up all of my required fields and be syntactically correct and
(b) still be easy to code and maintain?
(c) Also, do you recommend any secondary editor(s) that I could use to first write the code in and then cut and paste the code into the ABAP editor?"

Improvements and additions in this 1.1 release focus on adding the security and permissions framework to the open version, first phase of JCR-170 Level 2 support and adding Groups support and management to the Enterprise version. A large number of bug fixes and enhancements also present in this release.

Alfresco provides a repository as well as an application to manage the repository, and has been designed for developing portal content, or replacing uncontrolled shared drives.
